Student Massage

I am currently a Term 5 student in the Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) program at VACC, on my way to completing the full 8-term course. I have a deep passion for holistic health and wellness, and I am committed to learning the techniques and principles that will enable me to support individuals in enhancing their physical and mental well-being.

Throughout my studies, I have gained hands-on experience with a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, and myofascial release. I focus not only on physical techniques but also on the importance of therapeutic communication, building trust with clients, and creating personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs.

My approach to massage therapy is centered on helping clients relieve stress, alleviate pain, and restore balance in their bodies. As I continue my education, I am excited to deepen my knowledge and look forward to using these skills to make a positive difference in my clients’ lives.

I am eager to continue my journey toward becoming a fully qualified RMT and to help others achieve their health and wellness goals.

Sunny, a dedicated Vancouver Carrer College (VaCC) student, is on her journey to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Her passion for massage therapy began after her mother was involved in a car accident. By massaging her mother’s leg and helping to relieve her pain, Sunny was inspired to pursue a career in massage therapy, hoping to support others in the same way.

Sunny believes that patient safety and comfort are the most important aspects of effective treatment. She strives to create a welcoming and relaxing environment where patients feel at ease and ensure that each session meets their individual needs. By prioritizing proper communication, informed consent, and careful technique selection, she aims to provide a therapeutic experience that is both safe and beneficial for every patient.

She incorporates Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy (TrP), and stretching techniques into her practice. Her preferred focus areas include chronic pain management, foot massage, soft tissue work, deep tissue work, and even simply relaxation therapy. Before training as an RMT, she spent over four years in foot massage, which deepened her appreciation for foot care—an often overlooked yet essential aspect of overall well-being.

Sunny enjoys exploring local cafés for delicious iced coffee in her spare time. She also loves punch needle embroidery while watching her favourite show.

Sunny is always happy to welcome new patients and looks forward to supporting them on their wellness journey.
